Information about Touch of Class Roses – ‘Touch of Class‘ is a French-bred hybrid tea rose, produced in 1984 and originally introduced in France under the name ‘Marechal LeClerc.’ It was introduced in the United States by Armstrong Roses of Somis, Calif.

Like all hybrid teas, ‘Touch of Class’ has large, high-centered flowers. Each 6-inch flower has an average of about 25 to 35 warm pink to coral petals. The bush has an upright form and can reach up to 6 feet tall and 2 feet wide.


Since its introduction, ‘Touch of Class’ has won numerous local and regional rose society awards. In 1988, the rose won the Gold Medal at the prestigious Portland Rose Trials. In 1986 it was designated an “All America Rose Selection” by a national rose marketing organization.


The tall, pink-flowered ‘Queen Elizabeth,’ the first floribunda rose, was one of the parents of Touch of Class.’ ‘Romantica,’ a medium pink, French-bred hybrid tea rose, was another. Introduced in 1954, ‘Queen Elizabeth’ is still a best-selling rose today.
